Final Digipak and Advert

  1. I like how you've changed the bottom right box on the Digipak, so it is the same colour and the theme is consistent. The blue background and white writing go well with each other and makes it easy for anyone to read. The Magazine used for the reviews matches well with the genre that is portrayed through the Digipak and Advert.
There is a good balance between writing and blank space, this looks like a professional Digipak and Advert.

  2. Alex! I think that the overall design of your digipak and advert have been good at both stages.
When looking at the advert, I feel that the most significant change is the colour scheme that you have used. Using a much darker shade of blue, had worked in a more beneficial way. It creates a professional representation, something that has clearly been show in the research that you have conducted.
Removing the Itunes logo, has made your overall colour scheme and design work better. Having a single logo helps to create the symmetrical layout that you have created and ensures that the advert looked better.
Your final change, is something that was needed. Changing your panel to match the other five, helps to keep the continuity that you have created. In addition, adding the image, makes your design interesting to look at.
Your product is successful as it is backed up from the research that you have conducted, overall it works well with the genre and the band that you have created.

  3. Both your drafts and final pieces are very similar but I can notice the changes you had made, the design of the digipak compliments your chosen genre as I would relate the digipak to an indie sort of style. I like that you didn't keep the bottom right square a different colour from the other panels and also added in a image/design to the centre for your final entry because your design ideas aren't simple enough to have left it blank. Your advert is very good also, you have kept the complexities from your digipak and followed them onto your advert professionally. I think it was a good idea to remove the 'available on iTunes' sticker because it was something you didnt need and looked out of proportion on the draft. Also the colour you have changed it to connotes a more formal look and has made the font look more sharp. Overall your designs are eye catching and would persuade me to buy your product.

  4. I can see from your draft to final product that the bottom left box on the digipak has changed with the colour and whats placed on it. I think this has improve your design, on the draft that section looked out of place but now you have incorporated it into the whole design and all panels flow nicely.
Three strengths in the forms and conventions of a digipak you have concluded is teh bar code on the back of the digipak, the record lables logo being placed somewhere on the digipak and the layout of a 6 paneled digipak.
Overall you have produced a very authentic looking digipak, the colour scheme works with your indie genre as its bright and wired, the text font and position looks like you have put a lot of thought into it all which has been noticed in your research and the package just works nicely together, well done.

  5. From comparing your digipak draft and final piece, I can see a few changes have been made in order to create an effective piece of work. Firstly, I like your colour scheme (blue and white). Many people have chosen against using colour on their work which is why your's stands out. The use of font is effective as not only does the white colour compliment the background, it stands out through the boldness of it too. Using a bold font draws audiences in. The zig-zag pattern is effective, it adds detail to your simplistic work. The spine of the digipak allows audiences to identify who's album this is for, what it is called etc. The back cover is effective, it is full of information which is essential to any album such as songs, record labels etc. The information has filled up a lot of white space to balance out the panel. I feel that another barcode should have been used however to balance out the text even more, perhaps a long one without a white background so it could blend in. I like how you have filled your inside panels rather than just leaving them blank. Although this is stereotypically seen within Indie albums, it can become repetitive and boring, so I like how you have challenged this by adding in detail about production and the band itself. The CD is effective as it goes with the overall simplistic theme. I feel that the bottom right panel is effective also. The pattern adds detail rather than leaving it blank.
On the advert, I am relieved to see you have rid of the iTunes logo. It has become increasingly evident that all recent albums can be found on iTunes, so this does not need to be shown; the audience you are targeting will already know this. The advert has not really been changed since the draft so there is very little to comment on, it fills up a lot of white space, however not looking busy so looks aesthetically pleasing.
